Course
Description
This short course will provide students with
extensive hands on exercises focusing on configuring
advanced BGP features on Cisco routers. In every
session, brief theoretical lectures will be provided
however it is expected that the students have solid
Cisco backgrounds. Every student will then have
access to his own sets of routers to build his network
according to various scenarios.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be
able to:
- Describe characteristics of BGP and the tools
to filter routes and influence route selection
in BGP
- Describe BGP synchronization and its relationship
to different interior routing protocols.
- Describe the operation and configuration of
transit autonomous systems in a sample Service
Provider networks
- Configure BGP in transit autonomous systems
- Configure Scalability features combined with
BGP Route Reflectors and BGP Confederations
- Describe advanced BGP configuration attributes,
including Local Preference, Multi-Exit Discriminator
and BGP Communities
