Common Body of Knowledge
(CBK)
The Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) consists
of ten domains or subject areas considered
essential to the Certified Information System
Security Professional. Anyone seeking certification
needs to have an understanding of the principles,
practices, and functions in each of these
areas. Only with a firm grasp of these ten
subject areas can an Information Security
Professional understand the interaction among
all facets of information security.
The Common Body of
Knowledge (CBK) Review Seminar
The review seminar is an intensive course
covering the ten CBK domains, each of which
deals with some aspect of information security.
The seminar is intended to focus your study
time on the CBK topics that will prepare you
for the CISSP exam. The CBK review seminar
is an excellent means of learning the concepts
and topics covered in the CISSP exam, as well
as those covering all aspects of information
security.
There are training vendors who offer training
courses (CISSP CBK Reviews) that cover the
information that is in the CBK. It is important
that there be a distinction between training
management vendors who contract with (ISC)²
to provide the training and those who provide
independent instructors. (ISC)² provides
the industries premier CISSP CBK Review seminar,
the CISSP exam is and can only be offered
by (ISC)² the International Information
System Security Certification Consortium.
While the same subject areas may be covered,
only the instructors provided by (ISC)²
use training materials and presentations developed
by (ISC)² . |
