Telecommunications Overview
Course
Description
This course provides a broad overview
of telecommunications for the non-technical professional.
It offers a simplified overview of services provided
by various parts of the network. You progress from
basic telephony through the architectural and equipment
components that are the building blocks of the complex,
intelligent and information-rich networks of tomorrow.
It starts with the basics - Who provides network services?
What services do they provide? How are these services
delivered to the marketplace? Clear distinctions are
made between circuit-switched and packet-switched

ATM and TLS are possible. A "behind-the-scenes"
look at the Internet from a present-day networking
perspective is included.
